4. Polyurethane foam

polyurethane separation spray application

Polyurethane prevention.

While not the most complete filling, polyurethane foam is an excellent method of installation. Nowadays, polyurethane foam uses non-chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) gas to be used as an explosive agent. This helps to reduce the amount of damage in the ozone layer. They are lightweight, weighing about two pounds [2 kg] per foot (2 lb / ft ^ 3). They have a value of R of about R-6.3 per inch in size. There are also very small bubbles that can be sprayed on non-parting areas. These types of polyurethane inserts usually have an average size of R-3.6 per inch in size. Another advantage of this type of coating is that it is fire resistant.

5. Polystyrene

polystyrene material

Polystyrene (Styrofoam).

Polystyrene foam thermoplastic foam which is excellent for sound and heat. It comes in two types, expanded (EPS) and extruded (XEPS) also known as Styrofoam. The two types differ in terms of performance and cost. The most expensive XEPS has an R value of R-5.5 while the EPS is R-4. Polystyrene inserts have a distinct smooth surface with no other type of installation.

The foam is usually formed or cut into blocks, ready to be attached to a wall. The foam is hot and needs to be treated with a fire-retardant chemical called Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD). HBCD has been used on fire recently due to health and environmental risks associated with its use.

Other General Security Items

Although the items listed above are the most common for classification, they are not the only ones used. Recently, materials such as airgel (used by NASA in the construction of heat-resistant tiles, which can withstand temperatures of up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit with little or no heat transfer), have become more expensive and available. One especially the Pyrogel XT. Pyrogel is one of the world's most efficient industries. Its required size is less than 50% - 80% more than other clothing items. Although less expensive than other additives, Pyrogel is widely used for specific applications.

Asbestos.

Asbestos.

Other clothing items not mentioned are natural fibers such as hemp, wool, cotton, and grass. Polyisocyanurate, similar to polyurethane, is a closed thermoset cell plastic with a high R-value making it a popular choice as a protection as well. Other health hazards used in the past such as insulation and now have been rejected, are no longer available, or are rarely used vermiculite, perlite and urea-formaldehyde. These products contain recommendations to contain formaldehyde or asbestos, which removes them from the list of widely used liquid preservatives. .

There are many types of partitions available, each with its own structure. By thoroughly researching each type you can find out which one will be the type that best suits your specific needs. Like a quick overview:

Airgel is very expensive, but certainly the best type of installation.

Fiberglass is cheap, but it needs to be handled with care.

Mineral wool is effective, but it is fire resistant.

Cellulose is fire-resistant, eco-friendly, and effective, but difficult to use.

Polyurethane is a good circular product around, although not at all eco-friendly.

Polystyrene is a versatile material, but its safety is disputed.
